Lori M. Tinkler

Keynote speaker for Thursday

Lori M. Tinkler has 30 years of experience with the National Board for Respiratory Care, Inc. (NBRC). She joined the NBRC in 1991 and was named chief executive officer in January 2018. As CEO, Ms. Tinkler oversees the operation of the NBRC executive office, is the primary liaison to the Board of Trustees and its committees and focuses on the strategy and vision of the organization to help further the respiratory care profession. Ms. Tinkler speaks frequently at state and national respiratory care meetings and interacts with leaders across the profession. Lori is a leading expert in the development and management of certification programs and has a strong background in organizational change and development as well as testing and measurement. In 2008, Ms. Tinkler was named one of the Top 25 Women Who Mean Business in Kansas City by the Kansas City Business Journal and is active as a mentor for young professionals within the greater Kansas City business community. In addition, she volunteers on several local and national boards and committees, including the Johnson County (KS) Community College Foundation, the Advisory Board for the Johnson County Community College Respiratory Care Program, the American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST) Respiratory Care Network Steering Committee, as well as others.

Keynote speaker for Friday

Mark Millard, MD has been the medical director of the Martha Foster Lung Care Center since 1990, an outpatient specialty clinic dedicated to patient care, medical education, clinical research and community outreach. He was trained at Duke University, UT Southwestern, Yale and Boston University, returning to Dallas in 1981. His interests include developing community-based strategies for managing asthma and COPD, in addition to understanding the complexity of severe persistent asthma. He also Medical Director of Pulmonary Rehabilitation at Baylor University Medical Center. Author of Rules of Two.

Second Annual Respiratory Care Foundation Bowling Tournament

The Second Annual “No Experience Required” Respiratory Care Foundation of Texas Benefit Bowling Tournament will be held on Thursday, June 25 at the Bowelro Euless, Euless Texas. This event is designed to have fun and friendly competition for all skill level of bowlers and will act as the main fundraising event for the Respiratory Care Foundation of Texas. 2020 “Meet the Leaders” Social

The 2020 “Meet the Leaders” Social is a 1.5-hour social event held in the exhibit hall beginning at 5:30 PM on Wednesday, June 24. This event invites Leaders in Respiratory Care to round through the exhibit hall for a more one-one one experience with our exhibitors. Finger foods and drinks will be available during this time.

2020 Exhibit Hall Grand Opening

The 2020 Exhibit Hall Grand Opening will be held Thursday, June 25 at 9 AM. The grand opening will showcase local entertainment, vendor booths, TSRC Central merchandise and apparel, door prizes and much, much more. Join us for the fun, food and excitement surrounding this great event.

2020 TSRC Sputum Bowl

The 2020 TSRC Sputum Bowl will be held on Thursday, June 25. The event begins at 8 AM and will feature teams from across the state as they compete to be the Texas Sputum Bowl Champions and advance to compete at the AARC Sputum Bowl at the AARC Congress. 2020 TSRC Student/Practitioner Poster Presentations

The student and practitioner poster presentation is an opportunity for you to share your work and ideas generated from research, quality improvement initiatives, community service learning, or case studies to the attendees of the convention. It is a great way to get involved, put speaking skills to use and share information with the rest of the respiratory care community. All submissions must be original work. Poster Presentations will be Friday, June 26, 2020 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM.

Prizes will be awarded for the top three presentations in each category!

Practitioner Volunteer Opportunity

The TSRC program committee needs YOU! We are looking for colleagues to support with hosting the convention. Volunteer opportunities are available for assisting with registration, logistics, sputum bowl, vendor hall and more.
