Ethics: They’re Important in Respiratory Therapy, Too!

Gabrielle Davis will be presenting a live 2-hour long ethics course for TSRC on February 15, 2021 from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM central time. The program titled Ethics: They’re Important in Respiratory Therapy, Too! will discuss incorporating ethics into the ways we interact with patients when delivering their care and therapies as Respiratory Therapists is imperative. Being ethical may seem simply incorporating the idea of “doing the right thing.” Unfortunately, where health care clinicians usually fail is believing that “doing the right thing” has the same definition and the same impact for every patient that is being served. This presentation will provide an overview of the principles of ethics and demonstrate ways we can improve and incorporate fluidity into the concept of ethics and ethical treatment. Examples will be described, and participants will be offered an opportunity to ask questions and interact during the presentation and discussion.
